Time to Change the Ceiling Light

Posted under Arts-and-Entertainment

Since many members of my family is to change a lightbulb?

After the first viewing a house that we bought, I was struck initially cathedral ceilings in the main areas of life – this is a nice touch that adds to the open feel at home. Looking up at the 18 feet ceilings in the kitchen, I briefly wondered how it would get access to 5 recessed floodlight illuminates the area. Having lived here for over 2 years, we had one the lights fade on this week.

A couple of months ago, I’m one of them burns out, and I tried to change it using the Extensible Pole – a telescope ridiculous lengths (as she said), and has a suction cup on the end so that I could stick with suction cups to the bulb, turn on the light pole to unscrew said , and slowly bring the ball down to 18 feet.

The plan worked well until I actually had a lamp on the suction and take him down – I had to angle the pole to be able to reach the lamp, and when I was about 45 degrees and maybe 8 feet from the floor, suction could not keep the lamp and halogen flood light broke on his computer, throwing shards of glass and halogen things my whole kitchen, explosion, like the fat boy in this picture, Monty Python, after the final bit impractical.

Lessons learned. What do I need this time was to help – someone as a spectacle in the case of the failure of the sucker happened again.

I told the old woman holding a pillow-lined laundry basket in the light burned to catch the ball, if he fell. (I am referring to her “old lady” because I know she has so much interest in reading this, as she prepare the Boston Marathon, and sounds cool in a 1950 kind of way.) Probably overthinking, I realized it may be easier if it was above and it will be closer to the light, and I would have less distance to try to hold the ball for the not-so-industrial level of suction. So, I got her a step stool and had her hold the basket light, as I prepared myself sucking him off his feet 12 column. I almost could not have time to change the lamp, as I was busy patting themselves on the back for this brilliant plan.
